Merrijig, in Victoria's High Country, is one of Australia's best kept secrets. The hamlet lies in the Delatite River valley, 15 minutes from Mansfield and 15 minutes from the base of the popular alpine resorts of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling at the southern end of the Great Dividing Range.

With bushwalking, horse riding, four wheel driving, fishing, fantastic scenery ideal for painting or photography and a host of lovely accommodation venues from which to choose, visitors will revel in the opportunity to explore the many features of the district.

Take the time to explore our community website - you'll be pleasantly surprised at what you'll find.

newsletter

This month sees the start of a regular newsletter for Merrijig. Compiled by local author and long time Merrijig resident, Adele McCormack, the newsletter will be published in the first week of each month. The creation of the newsletter has come from the community meetings between the Shire of Mansfield and the community held at the Merrijig Public Hall, which sort the opinions of local people about things seen as important in the district. One suggestion was the newsletter and Adele has agreed to take on the role. Please enjoy reading this, our first issue and if you have ideas for the next and subsequent issues contact Adele. So take a moment to click on the link and enjoy all the news Adele has compiled for us.
